The first impression of any Windows Software is by looking at the icon, and if the icon of any software is professional looking, it goes a long way in giving confidence to the user that the software is also probably professionally made.
Here are some of the icons I have made, both for file types on my system, and for some of the software I had built. These icons were made using Adobe Photoshop CS2 and GIF Movie Gear.
