My name is Sushovan De, I am a graduate student at the department of Computer Science and Engineering of the School of Computing and Informatics at Arizona State University
I was born in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal in August, 1985. I did my primary schooling from a playschool at Delhi, followed by the Indian Senior Secondary School in Teheran, Iran (where my father was posted for a few years). Then we came back to Kolkata, where I studied from Class III to Class V in St. Francis Xavier's School at Salt Lake, followed by WWA Cossipore English School, where I studied from class VI to Class XII, and of which I have the fondest and freshest memories.
I got an All India Rank of 313 in the IIT-JEE examination in the year 2003, by virtue of which I did my Bachelors in Department of Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. The two years I spent under Mr. Malaya Khandelwala's coaching in the years 2001-2003 have been the most intellectually stimulating for me till now.
Right after finishing my bachelors degree, I worked as a Software Design Engineer at Microsoft India. I worked for the Windows 7 group, in the mspaint team, and had a lot of fun working on one of the most-used apps in the world's most-used OS. That one year was one of the most fun years of my life, and I made some of my best friends at Microsoft.
I am a person who loves to do programming. My favourite language is C#, although nowadays, I am using Java a lot (mainly work).
I have owned 4 computers till date. My first was a Compaq Presario SR1020IL with a Pentium 4 microprocessor (2.60 GHz), and 512 MB RAM, a 80GB hard-disk, which "sadly" did not have a graphics card. This was in the second year in IIT. After joining Microsoft, I bought another Compaq Presario, this time, a high-end one, SR5120 IL. This had a Core 2 Duo and 2GB ram, again, no graphics card. After moving to Tempe, AZ, I bought an hp laptop, a dv9700t with many options maxed out . This was the first machine I had that had discrete graphics card. After that got stolen, I built myself a desktop, on a Core i7 system, with a GeForce 9800GT card, which I currently use the most.
Here is a list of Programming languages/scripting I have ever touched upon. I do not claim I know all of these to the level I know C# or Java, but I have touched them at some point of time: Java, C#, C++, Visual J#, JSP, HTML, C, SQL, The DirectX API, XNA, JavaScript, Visual Basic, PHP
